Blinki Flex, in full.
Pay-monthly finance that lets a UK limited company spread the cost of a professionally built website. Here's exactly how it works, in plain English.
1. What Blinki Flex is
Blinki Flex is a way to have Blinki design and build your website now and pay for it in monthly instalments, rather than in one lump sum. It applies to our Built-for-you service. Blinki provides the finance directly — there's no third-party lender involved.
2. Who it's for
Blinki Flex is offered to UK limited companies only. You'll need a valid Companies House registration number to apply. Because Flex is finance provided to a company (rather than to an individual consumer), it is commercial, business-to-business finance and not a regulated consumer credit agreement — see section 10.
3. How it works
- Apply. Tell us about your company and the project. You'll enter your Companies House number.
- We check the company. We review the company's public record and creditworthiness (section 4), with your consent.
- Decision. If approved, we confirm your deposit, term and monthly instalment.
- Sign. A director signs the finance agreement and a personal guarantee electronically.
- Set up the Direct Debit and pay the deposit.
- We build your site, and your instalments are collected monthly.
- You own it. When the final instalment clears, full ownership of the website transfers to you.
4. The company check
Before we approve finance we check that the company can afford it. With your consent we look at:
- Companies House — the company's public record (status, age, officers, filing history and any insolvency markers).
- A credit-reference agency — a business credit report on the company.
This is a check on the company. We do not run a personal credit check on you as an individual. We won't run the check without your explicit consent at the point of application. Companies generally need to have been trading for at least 12 months and to be in good standing to be approved. If we can't approve you, we'll tell you why where we're able to.
5. Deposit, instalments & cost
- Deposit: a deposit (from around 20% of the price) is payable up front to secure your build.
- Term: the balance is spread over 12, 24 or 36 months, agreed at approval.
- Instalments: your monthly payments are simply the remaining cost of your website split evenly across the term, collected by Direct Debit.
- No interest on the finance: we don't add interest or an APR to the Flex arrangement itself. The total you pay for the website is the agreed price — interest only ever arises on late or missed payments (section 7).
6. The finance agreement & personal guarantee
Flex is set up under two documents, signed electronically by a company director:
- the finance agreement between Blinki and your company, and
- a personal guarantee, under which the signing director personally guarantees the company's payments. If the company doesn't pay, the director is personally liable for the outstanding amount, plus any interest and reasonable costs.
7. Missed payments
If an instalment is missed, we'll get in touch to sort it out — we'd always rather talk. If payment remains outstanding, statutory interest (8% above the Bank of England base rate) and fixed compensation may apply under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, and we follow a series of reminders. Persistent non-payment can lead to your website being suspended on notice, the full outstanding balance becoming immediately due, and, ultimately, recovery action — including under the personal guarantee.
8. Cancelling your Direct Debit
You can cancel a Direct Debit with your bank at any time under the Direct Debit Guarantee. But note: cancelling the Direct Debit does not cancel what you owe. If you cancel it before the balance is cleared, the entire outstanding balance becomes immediately payable.
9. Ownership of your website
Until the full price has been paid, the intellectual property in the website remains the property of Blinki, and you use it under licence while your payments are up to date. Once the final instalment clears, all of that intellectual property transfers to your company and the site is yours outright.
10. Regulation
Blinki Flex is commercial finance provided to a limited company and is not a regulated consumer credit agreement under the Consumer Credit Act 1974. It is not available to sole traders, partnerships or individuals. The finance agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
